To setup the activities, all you need to do is open the selected digital spinner with Google Slides, PowerPoint, or as a video, and provide the selected worksheet. There is no need to print spinners and provide paper clips and pencils or plastic spinners! The activities can be used in classroom math centers or for distance learning. The worksheets make great accountability pages.

Build a Teen Number

Once students master counting to 10, they need to understand counting to 20. Learning to count past 10 can be challenging for some students. Using this activity, students will build their own teen numbers using the digital spinner and ten frames. This will visually demonstrate how teen numbers are constructed and help them in building number sense knowledge for numbers to 20.

After students start mastering counting to 20, they can practice further with this Race to 20 game. Students spin the +1 / +2 digital spinner and coloring the matching number of numerals. As students color the numerals, they count forward until they get to 20.

Tens and Ones to 20

Being able to decompose numbers to 20 is an essential kindergarten concept that will help develop a student’s understanding of place value. In the Tens and Ones to 20 math activity, students spin the digital spinner and compose the teen numbers.

Doubles Facts are additions in which a number is added to itself. These math facts help students improve their mental math skills so they can quickly solve other addition facts. Number bonds are a visual method for decomposing numbers. In this activity, students decompose the number 20 by spinning a number on the digital spinner, writing it in one of the number bond circles, and finding the missing number to complete the number bond.
