Description
Give your students everything they need to master CVC blending and segmenting with this complete Science of Reading-aligned CVC Words Blending and Segmenting Bundle. Seven hands-on resources cover the full range of blending and segmenting practice – from successive blending and phoneme segmentation through to word building, decoding games, and task card activities – so you have the right tool for every stage of CVC instruction and every type of learner.
The resources in this bundle are organized with built-in progression: word family focus first, then short vowel review, then mixed CVC practice. That means you can move students through the bundle as a ready-made sequence or pull individual resources to match exactly where your students are.
What’s Included
Sound It Out Mats (65 mats)
Students identify the beginning sound, vowel, and ending sound for each picture by circling the correct letter. Organized into word family, short vowel review, and mixed CVC sections
Successive Blending Strips (206 strips)Â Each strip walks students through a three-step successive blending routine: individual sounds with color-coded dots, the first two sounds blended together, then the full word with a blending arrow. Students clip the correct picture from two choices.
CVC Word Pyramid Clip Cards (414 cards)
Each card builds a CVC word pyramid-style one letter, then two, then the full word. Students practice blending before they clip the correct picture from three choices. Includes 207 cards in letter and dot style and 207 in color block style.
Sound It Out Strips (207 strips)
A two-step activity on each strip: students identify the correct beginning, middle, and ending sound from letter choices, then build or write the complete word using magnetic letters or a dry-erase marker.
Spin, Tap and Read Game Boards (47 game boards)
Students spin the spinner, move the matching number of spaces, tap and read the word. Includes word family games, short vowel review games, and mixed CVC games. Color and black-and-white versions of all 47 game boards included.
CVC Word Sliders (207 cards)
Students pull a word strip through a small envelope one letter at a time to isolate each sound before blending the full CVC word, then reveal the picture to self-check. Alternatively, use a sticky note to cover the picture.
Phoneme Segmentation Task Cards and Worksheets (36 task cards, 34 worksheets)
Students use the picture-based task cards to segment CVC words into their three phonemes. Worksheets accompany the task cards. These are organized by beginning consonant (16 worksheets), middle vowel (10 worksheets), and ending consonant (8 worksheets). Color and black-and-white versions of all 34 worksheets included.
