Thanksgiving is a busy time in kindergarten. There are turkeys to draw, feasts to talk about, and only a few weeks before the holiday break. These kindergarten Thanksgiving worksheets keep math and literacy practice going through all of it. Students count pumpkin pies and build teen numbers with turkey ten frames. They find rhyming words, read CVC words, and write about what they’re thankful for. Every worksheet is print and go, so the only prep is the copy machine.
Why No Prep Thanksgiving Worksheets Work in Kindergarten
No prep worksheets give students focused practice on the skills they’re learning right now, with a theme they already love.
Each worksheet has simple directions and clear pictures, so students can work on their own once they’ve seen it modeled. That makes them easy to use for morning work, centers, small groups, and sub plans.
Teacher Tip: Print extra Thanksgiving worksheets and keep them in a fast finisher folder. They’re perfect for those short moments between lessons.

Thanksgiving Math Worksheets for Kindergarten
Numbers 1 to 10
Students count Thanksgiving food on ten frames, color the pies in order through a number maze, and connect the dots from 1 to 10. Tally marks, number words, and number comparison are covered too. Count and Match is a cut and paste activity where students count the turkey feathers and glue on the matching number.

Subitizing is covered with a few different activities, including two color by code worksheets, so students practice recognizing small amounts without counting each one.

A few activities turn the practice into a game. Race to Color, Race to the Top, and Spin and Color are just a few of these types of activities. Roll and Color by Number only needs a die.

Numbers 11 to 20
Teen numbers get the same kinds of practice. Students build numbers on turkey ten frames and count pies to 20. They put puzzle pieces in number order and fill in missing numbers on the pumpkins. Before and After asks for one less and one more, and Pumpkin Pie Count On builds counting on from a number.

Number Comparison
Number comparison is a skill students build all year, and these worksheet keeps it simple. Students look at two turkeys, find the greater number, and color that turkey.

Place Value and Skip Counting
These worksheets introduce tens and ones with ten frames and base ten blocks. Students write how many tens and ones, color the matching blocks, and spin a number to show on a ten frame. There’s skip counting practice by 2s, 5s, and 10s.

Addition and Subtraction
Students color pumpkins and leaves in two colors to show addition facts, then find how many more make 10 at the Turkey Feast. Addition True or False uses a color code. There’s also a color by code worksheet for addition to 10 and another for subtraction within 10. Pumpkin Subtraction and Spin and Subtract round out the section.

Time, Money, Shapes, Measurement, and Patterns
Students tell time to the hour with Turkey Time and Pumpkin Pie Time, and write the time on a digital clock. In Thanksgiving Shopping, they count and write the price, then paste the matching food item. They also measure Thanksgiving foods with cubes.

Shape activities are included too, with a color by shape picture and a shape count, plus a cut and paste pattern worksheet.

Thanksgiving Literacy Worksheets for Kindergarten
Alphabet Activities
Students fill in missing uppercase and lowercase letters, then put together three alphabet matching puzzles. In Match and Write the Letters, they cut and paste each picture to match its beginning sound, then write the letter. The alphabetical order worksheet uses Thanksgiving words.

Phonemic Awareness
Students count and color the syllables in Thanksgiving words, and find the rhyming pictures on five Pumpkin Rhymes worksheets. These are quick listening activities that work well in a small group.

Phonics Worksheets
Students color the beginning, middle, and ending sounds of CVC words, then write the whole word. Turkey Family Words covers word families with a short vowel on each worksheet. There are CVC Words Color by Code worksheets for every short vowel too.

Students who are ready for more can try the color by blend worksheets for L, R, and S blends. There’s a Thanksgiving digraphs worksheet as well. In the real words maze, students read each word and color the real words to find their way through.

Sight Words and Sentences
Sight word practice includes four Colorful Sight Words worksheets and four Color by Sight Word pictures. Students unscramble and glue five Thanksgiving sentences, fill in missing words, and choose the correct ending punctuation. Nouns and verbs are covered too, with a pie to color for every noun and a pumpkin for every verb.

Writing and Fun Activities
How to Catch a Turkey is a favorite writing activity. Students draw a picture of a turkey and write how they would catch a turkey. I Am Thankful asks for a list of things students are thankful for. In Label the Turkey, they cut and paste a word for each part of the turkey. A Thanksgiving word search finishes the packet.
Teacher Tip: Use the I Am Thankful worksheets for a class display or bulletin board. Students love seeing their writing on the wall during Thanksgiving.

How to Fit Thanksgiving Activities Into Your Week
These kindergarten Thanksgiving worksheets fit wherever you need them. A color by code or word search makes a calm start to the morning. The partner games and cut and paste activities work well at math and literacy centers. Pull the ten frame, place value, or phonics worksheets for small group practice with students who need it. The packets also make easy sub plans, and some teachers send a few home as a Thanksgiving break homework packet.
