Description
These Syllables Race to Cover Games build phonological awareness by giving kindergarten and first grade students a reason to listen carefully to every word, because counting the right number of syllables is how they win the game. All they need is a spinner (paperclip and pencil) and a handful of snap cubes, counters, or mini erasers.
Students spin and cover a picture with the matching number of syllables. Each players side hold different pictures, so partners are never racing for the same square.
